My little Crafts

While Ty is working his long hours, I get a little bored at home so to help the time pass I scrapbook or make little crafts. I sometimes wish someone would pay me to craft haha.
First I have made a Valentine's Day Wreath out of paper flowers. It took me about 3 days because making each individual flower takes awhile. But it was so fun even though my fingers cramped up a couple times.
Now its hanging up on my door and it makes me happy anytime I see it.
The second craft I have been working on is a Menu Board. I had a rectangle frame and covered it with blue paper. Used my Cricut to cut out "Menu" and the letters for the days of the week. Hot glued on the swirl safety pins and folded 2 box holders out of paper. Now we will always know what we are making for dinner and it also helps with grocery shopping. Each week we will figure out what we want to eat to avoid the daily struggle of figuring out what to make for dinner. I am so excited to use it.

My Handy Husband

So I decided Pinterest is one of the best things ever. The other best thing ever is having a husband that is willing to help me with my projects.
One day I saw a picture of a corner frame on pinterest and fell in love with it but it was $78 and there is no way I would spend that much for it. I showed Ty and he said, "I can do that." So we got to work. Ty was excited to use his new tools and I was excited he was doing it for me.
Ty working hard trying to figure out to make it sturdy.
So after getting the supplies, spending a whole lot less then the one I saw and a frustrated husband because things didn't work out as he originally planned. I have an awesome corner frame with shelves. It is the perfect decor for our little apartment.

Our Couches

Who would of thought that buying a couch is easy.
Well I didn't.
Ty and I had been thinking of getting a new couch for a little while now, our loveseat and recliner just wasn't working. After looking on the internet and looking at the few stores in Rock Springs that seemed a little over priced, we felt discouraged. Then Ty heard of a furniture store is Green River so we drove over there. One of the first couches we saw we loved, perfect color and it reclines. With our minds pretty much set on this couch we looked around to make sure that it was the one.
Now we just had one more decision to make. Whether or not to get the matching Loveseat. So we decided to just go with it and got them both. The sales man checked us out and they delivered  the next day and just like that we are the owners of beautiful couches!

Little Get Away

Ty's parent's had some Utah Jazz tickets and weren't able to go so we got them. We were so excited... not so much for the game but for the chance to get out of town. Ty was also excited because a couple from his mission just moved to Salt Lake City and we made plans to have lunch with them.

It was so fun to get away even though life her is Rock Springs is wonderful. We got to shop all day and I finally got a new coat and a skirt. Lunch was wonderful with the Batteens; I was so grateful that I got a chance to meet them because pretty much every time Ty talks about his mission he mentions them. They are such great people and we had a wonderful time at lunch.
The game was more fun then I thought it would be, we were in the nose-bleed seats but that didn't really matter to us. The game was kind of boring so we left with 5 mins. left and looked up the score later just in case someone asked us who won.
Now is hard to go to Salt Lake City without walking around Temple Square and plus its the place we got engaged so we had to go back to the same spot and think about how much our lives have changed since he popped the question. So the morning after the game we went straight to Temple Square... Then decided to go shopping again because we didn't want to go home right away.

So the Morning was great but lets just say the trip cost a little more then we planned. Our car started to make a funny noise and we were feeling a little nervous driving it back to Wyoming. So of course he dropped me off at a mall and took the car to a PepBoys which was near to the mall and then walked to the mall to meet me. It took them two hours to give us a call back to tell us what was wrong with the car. We had already planned on eating at Olive Garden and we were told there was one super close to the mall, so when we got hungry we started to walk to Olive Garden but of course we went the wrong way, so after asking walking for about 30, and asking for directions, we found out Olive garden is in the same parking lot as the Mall. Lets just say the nice walk made Olive Garden 10 times better. We were also grateful for the the weird warm weather in January. So it turned out that we had to get something fixed on the car but I'm grad we did because we made it safely home; only after we bought oreos and a 1/2 gallon of Milk for the drive home.

Sewing on a Button

Ty and I have been married a little over 5 months now and one of his buttons fell off his white church shirt. Lets just say sewing is not my favorite thing to do. I didn't even have a needle or thread.  Good thing Walmart is always prepared haha. I haven't sewed in so long it took me awhile and I poked my fingers several times.
But I am pretty sure that button isn't coming off anytime soon and I only got my thread into a knot once.
Just call me Super Wife!

Happy New Year! 2012

I can't believe 2011 is over, the year flew by and I have to say it was the worst and best year all rolled into one! 2011 was completely challenging but I'm so grateful for everything that has happened in my life. I'm so excited for the new challenges that await in 2012.
Ty and I brought in the New Year at a party with a few friends. We played games and laughed the night away until it was finally time to watch the ball drop and count down to 2012! Ty and I weren't able to be together last new years for some reason that I cant remember so we were both able to have our First New Years Kiss haha and Hopefully it is the first of many to come.
Also for the party I was asked to bring fruit and dip but I didn't have any idea how to serve it because I don't have a veggie plater so after looking everywhere and not finding one anywhere; I decided to do a fruit  bouquet and it was so fun to make; it was perfect for the party! I cant wait to make another one. It only took 30 mins. I used Bananas (if you put them in pineapple juice they won't turn brown, Pineapple, Kiwi, Apples and grapes. Strawberries would of worked too but I couldn't find any. Then I made a Strawberry Cream Cheese and Marshmallow Cream Puff dip. Yumm!
